Bayan Joonam of Soul Pancake

April 5, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Bayan Joonam, emmy-award-winning filmmaker at Soul Pancake

Join us Wednesday April 5th at Wayfare in Costa Mesa at 7pm to hear Bayan Joonam talk about the process of creativity, both in failures and successes. Free event! RSVP below.

Bayan Joonam is an emmy-winning filmmaker and the Head of Production at SoulPancake, a media company that explores the human experience through uplifting, thought-provoking video content (you’ve probably seen one of their videos featuring Kid President). At SoulPancake, he oversees digital content development, programming, production and post-production, and workflow processes and systems. Prior to SoulPancake, Bayan was a content creator at Jay-Z’s Life + Times and a producer for the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C.

Design, Detach, Repeat.

It can be a hard pill to swallow, but the truth is that your first idea is probably crap. Even your second or third one. Waiting to get started until “the right inspiration” hits is a negative sum game. Getting wrapped up in finding that “one perfect” solution becomes a serious handicap for artists who have not yet embraced the process of iteration. It is through that process that we can constantly evolve into making all the right decisions when it comes to design, editing, building a brand, and life in general. So join Bayan Joonam as he talks about failing your way to success and recognizing that the most successful people are in constant beta.

About the venue – Wayfare:

Wayfare is not only a wonderful co-working space, but also a community. “When people come together in community to do work, support each other and experience fully integrated lives, the culture of work can be transformed,” say the Wayfare co-founders. ” When you become a member of their community, they become a source for you to experience connection, support, and inspiration so you can advance the common good, with whatever you have and wherever you are. They have multiple locations in Orange County. For more info, check out their site here: wayfare.io

Generosity Water will be bringing free water. Not only do they produce the highest quality alkaline water with a perfect pH balance of 10.0, but they also support important causes and projects. For every bottle purchased, they give clean water to two people for one month.

Fermensch Kombucha will be available! Fermensch Kombucha is available exclusively on tap in local Southern Californian restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Because of our unique kegging system, we are able to provide a refreshing kombucha that is perfectly bubbly for drinking on its own or mixing into cocktails and spritzers. Fresh, bubbly kombucha, right off the tap. Find out where to get some here!

Z Pizza will be providing tasty food! zpizza was founded in the art colony of Laguna Beach, California, where creativity and craftsmanship have flourished for almost a century. So it comes as no surprise that their critically acclaimed pizza is a true Laguna original. A passion for great food is why they start with dough made from non-GMO wheat flour prepared fresh every day, hand-thrown and fire-baked until uniquely crisp. Their zest for quality continues when the toppings go on. They combine select ingredients using award-winning skim mozzarella from Wisconsin, certified organic tomato sauce, MSG-free pepperoni, additive-free sausage, and fresh produce. Needless to say, it’s amazing in every way. Find a location near you.
