Business Advisors and Founders of The Sales Shift Talk Selling for Non-Salespeople

Join us for our September Connecting Things! Wednesday September 5th starting at 7PM at WorkWell co-working space in Irvine! It’ll be a night of insights you wont want to miss if your work involves promoting yourself/your product, winning clients, and making money (that should cover all of you). Garrett Brown and Colin Coggins, founders of the Sales Shift, will share their thoughts on modern selling. They both started companies acquired by Google, and have worked on projects for some of the biggest companies and brands in the world. Through it all, they developed a refreshingly personal and emotionally intelligent approach to selling, which they call The Sales Shift. Garrett and Colin are going to join us to share insights that can:

  • help creatives better sell their ideas to clients, teams, and bosses
  • help entrepreneurs build the better team culture, instill purpose, and turn that into better sales results
  • help anyone interested in selling in a way that isn’t cringe-worthy and pushy

“The Sales Shift” is not a typical “how-to” sales training philosophy (because that would be an awful way to spend a Wednesday night). Garrett and Colin are going to talk selling for non-salespeople. Topics Garrett and Collin will dive into:

  • Connecting on emotional level with your audience
  • Why your purpose is more important than your goals
  • Leveraging the “finish line” to influence decision-makers
  • Getting your customers to fall in love with you every single time
  • Tools and Resources they recommend

Garrett began his career as a corporate lawyer representing entrepreneurs, but quickly decided to leave the law and join a tech startup that would allow him to follow his passion.  His first role was selling corporate sponsorships for Fastpoint Games, an online gaming platform. After some early success, he ran Fastpoint’s Sales and BD efforts as VP of Business Development until the company was acquired in 2011.  He then helped launch Bitium, an enterprise software company where he served as Chief Revenue Officer until the company was acquired by Google last year. Garrett joined Google in a role where he was able to work with a wide variety of internal teams and learn countless lessons about the inner workings of one of the most recognizable companies in the world.  He now serves as an active angel investor and startup advisor. More importantly, he is grateful for the opportunity to bring the tools and tactics of The Sales Shift to more and more sales professionals and organizations every day!

Colin began as Regional Sales Director and eventually became National Sr Director of Business Development at RESULTS.com.  He then served as Director of West Coast Business Development for Phunware, the pioneer of Mobile-as-a-Service, bringing Branded Mobile Experiences to global companies.  After that, he became Vice President of global sales and services for Mobile Roadie, the world’s leading mobile app creation SaaS product.  He then pivoted from leveraging the cloud to protecting it when he accepted the position of SVP of Sales at Bitium. There he lead the sales organization, an effort that led to Bitium getting acquired by Google.  Colin now leads the global revenue charge at Chanje, a company that delivers software, electric vehicles, and turnkey services for the last mile industry. Colin is passionate about teaching all aspects of sales….and celebrating the process every step of the way!
