Join us Wednesday, May 2nd for our next Connecting Things event! Andy Nguyen is co-founder of Afters Ice Cream (a chain that championed the “Anti Diet Diet Club” and created the MilkyBun, a donut-like pastry stuffed with ice cream and toppings). With 20 new locations in Southern California (and many more by year end), Afters Ice Cream has been both an entrepreneurial and social media phenomenon with hundreds of people turning up for their recent store openings. And that’s only 1 of the 8 local restaurant chains Andy and his partners have started recently to spice up the OC dining and nightlife scenes!
From “real job” to dream job
But Andy’s journey to ice cream-filled donut success wasn’t easy… Like many entrepreneurs, Andy and school didn’t get along so well, and he was quickly bored with his first “real” jobs. After a dozen+ year struggle including adventures in real estate, as a food truck owner, and Coachella VIP vendor, Andy has founded a clothing line, several food ventures, and a social media marketing agency, too. He has even started his own charity, Passion Chasers, to help OC kids like he used to be find their own entrepreneurial spark.
